Mariestad is one of Sweden's most charming towns, with a long history surrounded by popular attractions right by Lake Vänern. During the summer months Mariestad is a very popular destination.
Visitors come here to fish, visit Mariestad Gamla stad, Kinnekulle, or Torsö, they take boat tous, a bike ride, or just relax and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere.
Mariestad has plenty of great restaurants to choose from. International flavours: indian, ditch, lebanese, asian. Or why not try wild meat cooked swedish style? There are also a food court in the harbour where you can eat while enjoying the busy summer day or eat at Sill & Dynamit which has featured in the White Guide!
